There's
a buzz in the air
the
feeling's electric
feeling's
of hope, anticipation
buzzing
all around the nation.
We're
out and about
on
this strange, unusual night
fire-works,
rockets scream across the skies
as
the brilliant colours light up our eyes.
Mum
hugs, kisses and holds us tight
tears
running down her face
remembering
the past, and the present
looking
to the future in this special place.
Now
alas, the celebrations come to an end
tender
moments shared with special friends
another
memory consigned to history
although
this millennium remains a mystery.
