I bet
you got your dog as a pup,
you've
trained it well & never gave up.
I
got my dog as a 6 year old,
but
my dog's special, a rescue dog.
She
does have problems, you'd never comprehend,
Your
glares, your frowns, is there no end.
You
first saw her on two legs going quite mad,
And
made your mind up "she's totally bad".
Your
accusing scowls that matched her growls,
"Any
advice", no but look at her now.
We
saw you recently, you stopped and stared
"That
can't be the same dog walking there"!
Well
it is mister no thanks to you
We
can do what you do too.....
A word
of encouragement would have been nice
Especially
for a dog with a bit of a vice.
But
we've done okay no thanks to you,
We
can do what you do too.....
We've
now got prizes for obedience you see
And
all it took was just 8 weeks,
We
can walk to heel, recall and lie down
We
can sit and stay without a frown.
People
see us training, they stop and stare
"That
can't be the same dog over there"!
Now
she's so good, more gorgeous than before
"What's
her story, please tell us more".
Meanwhile
mister you and your dog
Being
so good and well trained.
People
bid you "hello", but it's not the same.
Maybe
my smiling and talking to my pup,
Beats
your frowning and being stuck up.
Maybe
the fact my dog sits at the kerb,
Watching
my actions, looking alert.
Then
there's your dog just ambling along
The
light in his eyes seem to have gone.
I always
thought that dogs were "man's best friend"
Why
don't you talk to him, then maybe then
People
would stroke him and give him a pat
Make
life exciting, as simple as that.
My
howling banshee's now reasonably sane
It
hasn't been easy but all the same
I'm
more than happy to give her my name.
She'll
walk by dogs, she'll be good and quiet,
When
she's off her lead, she no longer riots.
She
doesn't attack, always comes when called
She
doesn't even think about causing a brawl.
If
dogs come near she will bare her teeth,
But
there again, she's very protective you see.
Heel
work, stays, sits and recalls
No
problem now, she does them all.
You've
probably had your dog as a pup
But
my dog's special and we never gave up.
There's
no such thing as a problem dog
only
a dog with a problem
