If
like us your dog isn't the "breed standard"then your dogs
got
faults whether it be the dogs white, long haired or blue with pink spots.
No
doubt you've been told many, many times that your dogs not a "pure bred
shepherd!"
This
has happened to us on many an occasion with fables ranging from the mildly
amusing,
totally hysterical or downright annoying. I had to find out more
once & for all.
During
my research I came across some real classics but the one that got me was
the one
a
"learned" author/breeder came up with, one worth a mention in it's own
right.
The
fact is quote "that the long haired GSD was in fact a cross between a "normal"
GSD
&
a Scottish Sheep Dog."
This
spurred me into action as I was in a frenzy by this point.
After
a lot of researching I have finally came up with the explanation, the results
of which
can
be seen below. Unfortunately, the bitch is no longer with us although
they're may be
other
"Scottish Shepherds" out there unbeknown to us however, I have it on great
authority
that the male is alive and well.
So
I give you ladies & gentlemen the origin of the long haired
"German
Shepherd Dog"
Wait
for it......................

After
even more research I discovered that the bitch was a nice, loyal girl but
had an
attitude
to say the least, probably due to her Scottish blood. The male however
is a
lovely
natured lad with a very laid back character, in fact word has it that's
he's too laid
back.
This is probably due to his Welsh blood.
I
hope you liked this little "tongue in cheek" dig at the critic's of our
wonderful if "not"
perfect
German Shepherd Dog's.
